The Secret Fashionistas Don’t Want You to Know About

Manchester Fashion Movement partners with Showcase to bring luxury sample sales to Trafford Palazzo

This September, TraffordCity’s Trafford Palazzo will welcome Showcase, London's leading sample sale hosts who have teamed up with Manchester Fashion Movement to run 5-weeks of exclusive sample sales, offering up to 80% off luxury brands.

Hailed as “the secret that fashionistas don’t want you to know about”, Showcase allows the world’s best luxury brands to efficiently clear excess inventory that might otherwise go unsold, minimising waste and reducing the environmental footprint associated with overproduction.

An exclusive shopping experience

Established in 2017, Showcase will be launching their first sample sales in the North at Trafford Palazzo's TP Glow space, running every weekend from 8th September to 8th October. Access to these sales will be granted to Showcase members, with free registration available for those who wish to join and gain an exclusive shopping experience.

The partnership aims to highlight the need for a more circular approach to clothing, specifically the redirection of garments from landfill so that unwanted stock reaches loving owners.

Brands that will be on offer at discounted prices include Sophia Webster, Reiss, Herschel, and more.

creative freedom to curate a unique space

Katie Holland, Founder and CEO of Showcase, said: “Our aim is to offer brands a sustainable solution to efficiently clear excess stock and minimise waste whilst offering our members the chance to purchase luxury items at incredible discounts! We are passionate about reshaping individuals habits when it comes to shopping fashion. This is precisely why collaborating with Manchester Fashion Movement aligns seamlessly with our mission.

“Selecting Trafford Palazzo as our venue was an obvious choice. Its prime location in close proximity to both the motorway and public transportation from the city centre, convenient parking availability, and the creative freedom to curate a unique space all played a pivotal role in our decision to host our inaugural Northern pop-up event at this exceptional location!”

a real commitment to minimising waste

Alison Carlin, co-Founder of Manchester Fashion Movement, added: “We are delighted to see large luxury sample sales come to the North and that Manchester has been chosen as the location. Showcase demonstrates a real commitment to minimising waste and extending the life cycle of garments, which we are always shouting about here at MFM.

“Not before time, Manchester is now being seen as a real destination for the luxury market and Showcase sample sales are ensuring luxury is more affordable to the masses.”

Showcase will put Manchester on the luxury sample sale map

Mark Whittaker, Director at Peel L&P, said: “It’s a pleasure to welcome Showcase to Trafford Palazzo as we close out what has been a fantastic summer of activity.

“After the success of sustainability brands, Catch My Thrift and What’s Mine is Yours utilising the TP Glow space recently, we saw first hand the value in the circular fashion model and just how in demand it is becoming.

We’re looking forward to seeing Showcase put Manchester on the luxury sample sale map
